8 Frugal No Deposit Cars To Lease
Posted: 10th January 2019
Cars are essential parts of our lives, so it goes without saying that we don’t want all our hard-earned money to go into paying for our transport. Whether it’s for the commute, the school run, for road trips, or all three, why pay more than you need to?
Zero Deposit Car Leasing loves to make getting a car as affordable for you as possible, whether that’s in terms of your monthly payments, fuel costs and maintenance. It’s in this spirit that we’ve compiled a list of eight frugal cars that are super kind on your wallet.
One thing you can be sure of, with Zero Deposit Car Leasing, you don’t need to worry about an initial payment!
What makes a car frugal?
A car is more than its monthly payments, and when you’re a cost-conscious driver, you’ll be aware of the bigger picture, and here at Zero, so are we. Our pick of cheap to run cars are a blend of three super-important factors:
- Low monthly payments – keep these low by saving money on a model that is less than three-years-old.
- Low fuel consumption – you want a car with above 50 mpg (miles per gallon).
- Low maintenance costs – keep your tax spend low, and if you don’t have a maintenance plan, get a car that is cheap to service.
Beyond that, your frugal car comes down to what you’ll use it for: a small city car is ideal for urban drivers who need a run-around they can rely on when they or one other will be the passenger.
For drivers with families, space is a little more important – for extra passengers, or if you need extra cargo.
We’ve tried to give a mixture of car sizes that enable you to be productive, but not pay a premium for car capacity. While we may recommend used cars, Zero Deposit can offer great lease deals on new cars too. See our cheap to lease cars below:
The Skoda Citigo is one of our favourite cars to lease – and not just because it’s a super cheap lease car at a starting monthly payment around £120. This city-car is essentially a stripped-down VW Up, which is a great little car too. With a fuel efficiency of 64mpg, this 1.0-litre car is very easy on the wallet in terms of fuel consumption. What’s not to love?
Another city car that we’re in love with is the Hyundai i10. Hyundai differentiates itself in the market by offering a little more on the comfort side. Meanwhile, the i10’s 1.0-litre engine delivers 60 miles to the gallon.
Fiat’s iconic 500 model is more than a pretty face. This is a reliably built car with an engine that delivers fantastic bang for your buck. It is perfectly built for a city, and its high fuel efficiency means that for as little as £156, you’re getting a 1.2-litre vehicle that is happy to sip fuel while you go about your way.
One of the UK's’ favourite cars, and for good reason. This reliable vehicle offers decent fuel consumption thanks to its 1.2-litre petrol engine and has enough space to accommodate regular passengers and can happily do grocery runs. Available from just £160, and absolutely no deposit, the Vauxhall Corsa covers all the bases.
The Peugeot 308 is something of a marathon runner. It’s also our largest car because it’s hard to say no to car that can return 91mpg with a 1.6-litre engine. And for the same price-point of the Corsa and the Fiat 500, it’s an affordable car we should all want to get behind the wheel of.
With the Aygo boasting efficiency figures of nearly 70 miles to the gallon, and built with the reliability of Japanese engineering, and available to you at £129.00 per month with nothing to pay up front, there’s very little to not love about this city car.
The Dacia Sandero is a common choice when talking about affordable cars, and there’s little reason to disagree. This car offers drivers what they need, and is made to not hurt your pocket – it’s 1.2-litre engine will ensure your fuel lasts a very comfortable distance, it is large enough for most drivers’ needs and will serve you very well at a monthly cost of just £138 per month.
BMW 1 Series
Sometimes in life, we want comfort, and in terms of driver convenience, the BMW 1 Series is a fantastic option when it comes to affordable premium cars. You’ll be paying extra, but you’re getting BMW’s reliability for the extra you’re paying, which pays off down the line. For just £200 per month, with nothing paid for 30 days, you can get in the driver’s seat of the plush 1 Series, and you’ll be surprised what you get: 68mpg, boatloads of driver conveniences and the overall comfort that this car provides.
