New Year! No Deposit Special! Skoda Fabia Estate Review

Posted: 27th January 2017

Happy belated new year! We hope you enjoyed it and we want to talk to you about 2017. The new year is a time of renewal. With it being this time of year again we wish to offer you a chance to get some brilliant cars through no deposit car leasing. In this case, we have the Skoda Fabia Estate.

The normal Skoda Fabia is an excellent supermini, that handles well and has a very spacious cabin that is comfortable and supportive. Is the Estate version just as good?

Fabia’s engine

Like most cars in its class, the Fabia Estate has a great selection of engines, both petrol and diesel. We are going to cover the cheapest, the greenest and the fastest to give you the range of what Skoda have on offer.

The cheapest engine is the 1.0 MPI S model. This 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine is paired with a five-speed manual gearbox and produces 75 bhp. It has a top speed of 109 mph and accelerates from 0-60 mph in 14.9 seconds, which is faster than several other entry-level cars in the class. It does well with fuel efficiency as well. It has a combined fuel economy of 58.9 mpg, which is respectable for an entry level car.

Now if fuel efficiency is a priority of yours and you wish to find the greenest Fabia Estate model, check out the 1.4 TDI SE L model. This 1.4-litre three-cylinder diesel engine is again paired with a five-speed manual gearbox. It develops 90 bhp and a top speed of 114 mph. It is an excellent motorway and long journey cruiser with an acceleration speed from 0-60 mph of 11.3 seconds. It also produces a combined fuel economy of 74.3 mpg. For you city drivers, the urban fuel economy of this car is 65.7 mpg.

Now onto speed. The 1.2 TSI Monte Carlo model is the fastest model available to the Fabia Estate. This 1.2-litre four-cylinder turbo-injection petrol engine produces 110 bhp. It is mated with a six-speed manual gearbox. With speed in mind, this car has a top speed of 124 mph and accelerates from 0-60 mph in 9.6 seconds, which is excellent for the size of car and the purpose of this car. Whilst speed is a priority with this car, the fuel economy is like the entry-level car. It has a combined fuel economy of 58.9 mpg and an urban fuel economy of 46.3 mpg.

Inside the Fabia Estate

When you slip inside either the normal Fabia or the Fabia Estate, you find a well put together interior that is a good mixture of high-quality hard and soft plastics and other quality materials. The dashboard is well set out, with a touchscreen display and clearly marked buttons and knobs.

Now considering this is an estate model of the Fabia, you will expect a large boot space. The normal Fabia has a boot capacity of 330-litre and when you drop those rear seats it increases to 1,150-litres. However, in the estate model, you get a boot capacity of 530-litres as standard. If you want the full amount, again you drop those rear seats and that increases to 1,395-litres.

For passenger space, the Fabia Estate has more space than the hatchback. In the front, the driver and front passenger get plenty of space that would be too much even for a six-foot adult. In the rear, the headroom and legroom is spacious enough for more six-foot adults. Four adults would be seated comfortable in the car. You can add a fifth with a squeeze, but without too much discomfort.

Fabia Estate’ Performance

With this Fabia Estate, Skoda have gone for a substantial update compared with the previous model. It is lower and wider than the last model, which means it is both agile and nippy around town. The widening does give you more space as well making it a good car to drive for those longer journeys you are likely to take.

In all honesty, this Fabia Estate feels little different to the hatchback model. It responds sharply, turning corners quickly with massive amounts of grip. Obviously, there is slight body roll, but not enough to make a real impact. It absorbs the bumps and potholes that litter the roads, ensuring you still have smooth ride.

We have this Fabia Estate and a variety of other cars available on special deals to start the new year off in style. We offer personal car leasing for anyone without a deposit or with bad credit.
