Peugeot 208 Active 1.2 Review
The Peugeot 208 Active is seen as the most popular model from the 208 range, with its wide mix of different equipment, superb quality drive and a fresh, modern look. Peugeot have definitely upped their game when it comes to keeping it new and interesting, and this car is the perfect example of a great little city car.
Performance & Drive
The 208 is up at the top when it comes to performance and drive, because of the simple fact that it has great body control and is easy to drive. The 208 is pretty nippy to drive and can reach 60mph in 12.8 seconds. However, it does tend to struggle a bit on the motorway, which does drop the enjoyment levels slightly. Other than this, the 208 has a great interior and is incredibly comfortable for those long journeys.
Cost
When it comes to the cost, the Peugeot 208 isn’t too hefty. On average it’ll cost you roughly £53 on average to fill your tank, so it’s got a low running cost which is always a huge bonus. The car itself isn’t too expensive either; petrol-powered is the cheapest option and falls in the ‘<10’ insurance group. Of course if you’re interested in no deposit car leasing, the Peugeot 208 becomes even more affordable, so make sure to check out our Peugeot car lease deals.
Cabin & Style
The overall style of the Peugeot 208 has a modern vibe with a sporty twist, which creates a highly distinctive look. As for the interior, the 208 features quite a bit of space, especially in the backseats where there is enough head and legroom even for taller passengers. You’ll easily be able to comfortably fit 5 people inside without a struggle. On top of this, there is a total of 1,076 litres worth of space in the boot, which is actually more than a Fiesta. There are also some additional storage options included, such as cup holders, door bins, and a deep section behind the gearstick.
When it comes to technology and safety, the 208 doesn’t disappoint. It features electronic stability control, a driver-set speed limiter, anti-lock brakes, 6 air bags and also a seatbelt reminder buzzer; so for any journey, you’ll be more than safe. Also included is a touchscreen entertainment system with USB connectivity, a DAB digital radio and Bluetooth phone connectivity, all of which add to the 208’s modern vibe.
Verdict
Overall, the Peugeot 208 Active is a fantastic little car that has been brought up to modern day standards. As well as having all the necessary equipment, the 208 Active also has its own unique style, with a solid build and attractive exterior and interior. The 208 is ideal for long journeys due to its incredibly comfortable seats, and although it may seem a little dated in some respects, it’s still a reliable and easy-to-drive motor.
